Michael LaNoue
Professor of Photography
Michael is currently teaching at Cypress and at Santa Ana
College. I have also taught at Saddleback College. As an educator, I
have been involved with photography for over twenty years. I enjoy teaching
beginning and advanced students both the fundamentals of photography,
as well as the finer points of visual communication. As a photographer,
I have freelanced in portraiture and have worked as a senior and yearbook
photographer with Sanford Studios.
My personal work has been exhibited at many galleries and
has been published in Photographer’s Forum. I thoroughly enjoy
the impressionistic qualities of B&W infrared film and have used
this film almost exclusively in landscapes for over 25 years. My love
for wilderness has led me to photograph the beauty in the landscape
before it disappears from our urban/suburban world. In addition, I have
enjoyed working with various alternative processes, including but not
limited to applied color, toning, and split toning. Currently, I am
exploring the creative possibilities of digital photography.
